A. when insomnia happen during first week or few weeks, this is categorized Transient or Short-Term Insomnia.

This insomnia more complex than transient insomnia and acute insomnia.

Other factor like any disease such as arthritis, kidney disease, heart disease, asthma, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, parkinson’s disease, and hyperthyroidsm, have potential contribution for chronic insomnia.
Other contribution for chronic insomnia such as drug abuse, misuse of alcohol and coffee, get over napping in the afternoon or evening, and irregular wake or sleep schedule due to the job purpose.
Treatment
Most of transient (short-term) insomnia and acute (intermediate) insomnia may not require treatment since the episodes last only a few days at a time.
