What is Boils?
Boils is just a ‘small diseases’ in the follicle on the skin. But, the pain often makes people suffer.
The severity may reduced when the abscess burst and ooze pus.
Boils or skin abscess actually an inflammatory on the skin’s hair follicles and surrounding areas.
Initially, it just infected hair follicles. But, because of friction, irritation, less hygiene of body’s care, decreased of immune system, and perhaps the side effect of medications, the infection can spread to surrounding tissue and become the boils in any levels of severity.
Boils usually begins with a red bump and soft on the skin. Over time, it becomes hard.
Then, in the middle of the lump will forms a white peak of pus.
Pus is formed from the body’s defense mechanism against bacteria that infects the skin where the boils occur.
Liquid pus in the boils basically is the white blood cells. The white blood cells sent by the body to fight and destroys the infection.
Finally, a collection of white blood cells, bacteria, and protein forming a pus.
Types of Boils
There are several types of boils, including:
1. Furuncle or Carbuncle
Furuncle or carbuncle is a skin abscess caused by the bacteria staphylococcus aureus.
Furuncle can have one or more fractions in the skin and can be accompanied with fever.
2. Cystic Acne
Cystic acne is a type of skin abscess caused by clogged oil glands which then became infected.
3. Hidradenitis suppurativa
Hidradenitis suppurativa is a condition in which there is multiple abscesses formed under armpits and often in the groin area. This is due to local inflammation of the sweat glands.
4. Pilonidal cyst
This is a unique type of abscess that occurs in the folds of the buttocks.
Pilonidal cyst often begin as tiny areas of infection in hair follicles.
With irritation from direct pressure, over time the inflamed area will enlarge and painful, making it difficult and uncomfortable in sitting.
This is often occur after long trips that involve prolonged sitting.

The most common causes of boils is bacteria staphylococcus aureus, and therefore boils can also be interpreted as a local infection in the inner skin.
Other causes of boils including as an impact of growing hair, the results of splinter or other foreign materials that became lodged in the skin, and infections of the sweat glands.
This can occur as a results of declined immune system due to illness and side effects of medications.
Some diseases that can lower the body’s immunity include diabetes, kidney failure, hypogammaglobulinemia, etc.
The main and general action for most boil treatment is a heat application, such as hot compresses.
Heat application increases circulation to affected area and allow the body better in fighting infections by bringing antibodies and white blood cells to the site of infection.
When the boils still small, breaks the boils doesn’t help, even made more painful.
However, after the boils became soft or forming ‘head’ or core of pus is visible, then it can be broke and removed.
Despite of potential adverse effects, use of antibiotics often prescribed to eliminate accompanying bacterial infection, especially if there is infection of surrounding skin.
However, antibiotics are not necessary in every situation. In fact, antibiotics have difficulty in penetrating the outer wall of skin abscess and often can not heal an abscess without additional minor surgery.
Pressing the boils can be done if there is a core of pus, although the risk for recurrence may exist.
Be sure to always keep the skin clean, so it can minimize the occurrence of subsequent infection.
For a solid boils, painful, and have no core of pus, it should not pressed because there will be no pus that can be removed.
Since most of boils associated with infection caused by bacterial staphylococcus aureus, using Anthracinum
effectively fight this bacteria.
Anthracinum is commonly used in homeopathic practice to treat all types of infective folliculitis.
It is a nosode from anthrax poison found by Johann Joseph Wilhelm (1830), an expert of homeopathic practitioner who introduced the theory of nosode (from a disease to treat certain diseases).
This nosode has proven as great remedy in an abscess larger or chronic than a boil, including septic inflammation.
The homeopathic practitioners will use this nosode when there is symptoms likes terrible burning, induration of cellular tissue, abscess, bubo, and all inflammation of connective tissue in which there is a purulent focus.
Boilx, a homeopathic remedies for boils, is not only contain Anthracinum, but also other homeopathic ingredients to treat boils and boils-like symptoms.
Baptisia tinctoria, while helping white blood cells to fight bacteria infections, this natural homeopathic ingredient also increase the immune system of patient against bacterial infections, making the disease can’t spread to other areas and without side effects.
The anti-toxicities and immunology of Baptisia tinctoria against bacterial infection also proved in German study, which activates body immune system and cell interaction due to biopolymer content of baptisia tinctoria (1).
Another great effects of BoilX in activating natural body defense also strengthened with Echinacea angustifolia.
A study from Bastyr University, U.S., also found that this herbs can suppresses interleukin-2 production that plays important role in body immune system due to its natural chemical content of alkylamides (2).
Along with other homeopathic ingredients, such as Calcarea picric that contain picric acid for antiseptic and astringent properties to accelerate the process of skin repair after injury, Hepar sulphur to treat suppurating glands, Pyrogenium as ‘bacteriophage-encoded’ during infection causes swollen and inflamed skin, and Mercurius corrosives to treat soreness in the affected skin, making Boilx as one stop solution for boil diseases or skin abscesses in alternative medication, homeopathically.
See official site of BoilX for more detail, especially direction of use and precaution that may need to be anticipated.
