About morbid obesity surgery for fast weight loss therapy and some precautions

One favorite weight loss therapy for morbid obesity is Bariatric Surgery or Weight Loss Surgery. The reason is that procedure considered ‘safety’ and off course fast weight loss result, also available at nearest specialist clinic and hospital.
The consideration with this treatment when morbidly obese patient with diet, exercise, and medication failed to solve.

The procedure may involved 2 strategies which are;
1. Gastric restriction.
This will involves Stomach Stapling (Vertical banded gastroplasty).
It’s restrictive operation for weight control.
A vertical pouch is created by stapling the front of the stomach to the back wall, below the junction between esophagus and stomach.

2. Intestinal malabsorption.

Benefits of this procedure is sustained weight loss through decreasing in oral intake and induction of significant malabsorption of fat by diverting bile and pancreatic secretion, so then it’s less dependable with patients dietary.

Other procedure for intestinal malabsorption is Laparoscopic weight loss surgery.
The benefits may including related to the wound, reduced peri-operative morbidity, and short recovery.
One of popular procedure is laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.

However, the complication may occur from above treatments may including respiratory complication (both peri-operative or post-operative), leaks of anastamotic, and posible to re-surgical.
Mortalilty rate reported bellow than 1%.

However, most expert specialist surgeon know how to treats the complication.
