Celiac disease is an inherited autoimmune digestive disorder in which people cannot tolerate gluten caused damaging in mucosa of the small intestine due to an immune reaction to gluten.
The symptoms in adults with celiac disease including diarrhea, passage of foul, loss of weight, lower apetite, worsening malabsorption, stunted of growth, skin rash, abdominal pain, defects in tooth enamel, and fatigue, including advance symptoms, such as osteoporosis, anemia, and absence of menstruation in women.
As celiac disease may associated with other disease such as small intestine cancer, lymphoma, anemia, and other malignancy complications, previous study has been suggested that celiac disease may also influence the reproductive system, especially to lowering the male fertility.
For this risk factor, the researchers from Sweden said that there is no link for the risk of male fertility.
This suggestion appeared after the researcher tracked the national database to determine how many children each men had, and when those children were born in relation to his celiac diagnosis from about 7,000 Swedish men who had been diagnosed with celiac disease and 32,000 similarly agen men without celiac disease.
Although the findings that published in Fertility and Sterility archive on February 21, 2011, can not generalized to other men because the study only involved men who were born in Sweden, however, the authors considers the findings might be convincing because the large number of subjects.
This condition may not similar to the women.
Several studies has been suggested that women with celiac disease are more likely to suffer form infertility than women without celiac disease. Even they had fertilization, the chances of miscarriages is higher, including poor growth of the fetus.
