Dr Swan the leader of Alberta Liberal just made a website to call the Premier Ed Stelmach to replace Health Minister, Ron Liepert due bad management health care system especially with Alberta’s health care system.
Even his new site born just 1 week, he already got 325 responder and mostly have experienced dealing with Alberta’s health care system.
Dr Swan says, he will forward all the responder messages to the legislature.
He said, some of the responders are health care professionals that may be afraid of providing their names for fear of repercussions from employers.
One of responders, a woman wrote that her sister died 4 day after her uterus tore and went into cardiac arrest. Previously, Her sister had C-section due lack of staff and got unproperly monitoring.
Another complaint came from a man who had gall bladder problem could not get into surgery for 10 days and become infection that make a gangrenous leak from his gall bladder to his abdomen.
Dr Swan said, “we are not politicizing the suffering of people. We are trying to tell the truth about what people are afraid to tell.”
In another side, Health minister, Ron Liepert said, “he was not really aware of the website, could not care less that it existed.”
Dr Swan asked what advice he would give to Albertans who have complaints or concerns about the health care system, Liepert said. “I would not say anything differently than what we’ve been saying to Albertans for the last year and a half.”
