HIV and AIDS has no specific symptoms and may indicate with many other illness.
Right now, many suspect HIV/AID person take simple or instant test for HIV test.
Some HIV instant test kit sell easily in store or internet and make the suspect patient think, it is okay no to visit their health care provider.
Recent study, even the suspect go to clinic for Quick HIV tests, the result may detect NEGATIVE if the patients have flu-like symptoms.
Henry de Vries and colleagues wrote in the online journal Eurosurveillance, “Recent infections are characterized by a highly infectious phase and, if gone unnoticed, can have a large contribution to the ongoing transmission of HIV. Healtcare providers should be aware of primary HIV infection and the pitfalls in its diagnosis.”
Henry de Vries from University of Amsterdam and colleagues reported, The 49 years old man tested negative using standard quick test for the virus at Amsterdam clinic, but more sophisticated, time-consuming tests later showed the patient in fact did have a large HIV loads in his blood.
The researchers said, “This man had fever, malaise, generalized rash, anal itching and rectal discharge after unprotected receptive anal and oral intercourse with an anonymous partner in a gay cinema one week before.”
This mean that patient had a number of sexually transmitted infections, including gonorrhea and chlamydia, but the quick HIV test came back negative.
The researchers write, other HIV tests were not conclusive, but an immunoblot assay confirmed HIV infection two week later. People often have symptoms days after they get HIV, but they are usually mild and look like any number of other infections.

It is possible to be infected with HIV and yet to have no symptoms for years. It is NOT possible, however, to be infected and not test positive within three to six months.
