Using saw palmetto and hair loss

Saw palmetto or botanical name for serenoa serrulate widely known had good effect related to healthy prostate and reproductive system. That was caused by liposerolic extract from saw palmetto fruit.

But, it is also best known had strong impact to grow the hair.

How saw palmetto works to grow the hair?

Saw palmetto contain rich fatty acids and phytosterois. The structure of fatty acids as following;

Fatty acids contained in saw palmento will block 5-alpha-reductase, the enzyme implicated in both balding and benign prostate hyperlasia (BPH).

5-alpha-reductase had a function to convert testoterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is major cause for pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia).

By blocking or reducing the amount of 5-alpha-reductase into the body, it will also reducing the formation of DHT.
