Here Is the Mattress Disposal Guide for You

Imagine you are moving into a new house and you are getting everything new, which includes the mattress that you use in your bed. So what do you do with your old one? Throwing it away is the most common thing that people do these days.

It is common for people to replace their mattress every 10-12 years, which of course varies from person to person. So to save money and to be eco-friendly, we need to be more responsible about how we discard our old mattresses. In this blog, I will mention the ultimate mattress disposal guide.

The ultimate mattress disposal guide.

Before throwing away your mattress, you might want to check the warranty period of your mattress as some companies will do it for you if it is under warranty. If it is not, then you need to do it manually.

  • Recycling your old mattress: Recycling your old mattress is probably the most efficient, eco-friendly way to get rid of your old mattress. Mattress thrown out in the garbage can often end up in landfills and causes an increase in the planet’s waste. There are plenty of organizations that will take care of your old mattress and give them to the needy.
  • Reselling your old mattress: Why not resell your old mattress which is in good shape if donating is not an option for you. This will bring up some cash to help you up with the new one and will help someone who cannot buy a brand new one. You can go up online and see whether anyone is interested in buying one.
  • Repurposing your mattress: There are so many things that go into making a mattress and by dismantling them, you can easily use the materials for so many other things. You can sell the steel parts to your local scrap yard, use the foam for DIY cushions and pillow paddings, use the fabric to make rugs and sheets and other household cleaning items and so much more.
  1. Donate your mattress:  If money isn’t a problem for you, then you can donate your old mattress to someone who needs it more than you do. You can donate them to your local charity groups or various organizations working for the betterment of people in need.

Recyc-Matelas is one of those companies that helps you to recycle your old mattress without causing any harm to the planet.
