Of course, preference is given to women from 25 to 30 years, although under Ukrainian law, women may enter the program from 18 to 35 years. Stages of surrogacy

The first stage of surrogacy is, of course, the preparation of both the biological parents and the surrogate mother herself. First, the surrogate mother undergoes psychological training in order to reveal psychological problems as well as to set the right mood. Even though surrogate mothers go into the program knowing for sure that they are carrying someone else’s baby, parting with that baby can be difficult. This is the reason why specialists at the fertility clinic work with the surrogate before, during, and after the program. This helps to minimize psychological discomfort and help the surrogate mother to do the noble deed.

Here is approximately what the list of all the stages of surrogacy program looks like:

  • Full examination of the surrogate mother;
  • Conclusion of a contract with the biological parents;
  • Transfer of the initial advance payment to the surrogate mother;
  • Preparation of the surrogate’s body for embryo transfer;
  • direct transfer of embryos into the uterine cavity;
  • supervising the pregnancy;
  • birth of the child;
  • Transfer of the child to the biological parents with the signing of all necessary documents;
  • Payment of the surrogate mother’s remuneration.

Compliance by both parties with each step is monitored with the help of the company’s lawyers. When a surrogate mother applies to a large company, she can be sure that she will be fully compensated. Separate issues are discussed such as the surrogate’s pregnancy supervision, which may be carried out in a private clinic, the necessity of renting accommodation for the surrogate for the period of pregnancy, and reimbursement of food and clothing expenses.

Surrogate mother preparation

After the surrogate undergoes all the tests, the menstrual cycles of the surrogate and the biological mother are synchronized. This is necessary to perform the egg retrieval from the biological mother’s body, give them several days to grow in artificial conditions, and place them into the uterine cavity of the surrogate at the most opportune moment.

In the process, the surrogate’s body is additionally prepared for pregnancy: hormonal preparations including estrogen and progesterone are used for this purpose.

Then normal pregnancy monitoring is performed, and if necessary, hormonal preparations are prescribed to support the pregnancy of the surrogate. However, in most cases this is not necessary, and the pregnancy proceeds without problems or complications.
